Prof. Ruma Banerjee from University of Michigan Medical School, USA to give a talk on H2S Targets Mitochondrial Bioenergetics and Induces Metabolic Remodeling.

Toxic at high levels, H2S modulates a range of physiological processes. Biogenesis of H2S piggybacks on the transsulfuration pathway enzymes, while its clearance is catalyzed by a dedicated sulfide oxidation pathway housed in the mitochondrion. Prof. Banerjee will explain her studies about H2S signals by targeting mitochondrial bioenergetics, which fans out to other compartments via redox metabolite signaling.
