Red Blood Cells as a Central Hub in the Interaction among Reactive Species
During Paris Redox 2020 Congress which will be held on October 8-9, 2020 in Paris, France, Prof. Miriam Margherita Cortese-Krott from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany will present a major talk entitled "Red Blood Cells as a Central Hub in the Interaction among Reactive Species".
Summary of presentation: Besides their role as oxygen carriers, red blood cells have been recently demonstrated to participate in systemic NO and sulfide metabolism and to be a potent circulating antioxidant cell. This talk will summarize recent evidence analyzing the reactive species interactome in RBCs and how this may affect the cardiovascular system.
